Luxurious resort located near Dominical on the central Pacific coast of Costa Rica. This 10-acre resort is uniquely located on a mountain ridgeline that provides the perfect ocean view looking west, and a spectacular mountain and valley view to the east. At 1500 feet above sea level, this micro-climate has the ideal temperature with a light breeze.
It is easily accessible, only 6 km from the main coastal highway, on a well-maintained gravel road, however, the resort is fully immersed in nature without any distracting noise from the outside world. The property is adjacent to hundreds of acres of undeveloped primary rainforest, which is part of an uninterrupted natural wildlife corridor. Even with the abundance of tropical animals and birds, there are unique species, like the spider monkeys that often pass through the resort daily.
The resort developer had a dream of creating a fully sustainable, environmentally integrated eco-resort and retreat. Designed in collaboration with artistically inspired architects and engineers, Las Nubes has its own unique character, built to resemble nature’s curves and organic shapes of living structures.
Living areas include 4 independent villas, a private 2 bedroom suite on the second floor of the main building, for a total of 5 rentable units capable of accommodating 16 guests. In addition, there is an owner’s home and a worker’s home.
The main building serves several purposes. The first level has a restaurant, lounge area, observation decks, and infinity pool that is common to all guests. This can be a gathering place to mingle and relax, lounge by the pool, or simply watch the surrounding wildlife and sunset views. This area can also be used for meetings and receptions. The second floor contains a full private suite with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a jacuzzi tub.
Each Villa is private, spacious, and tastefully furnished. The outside has its own terrace view flowing into the jungle.1 to 4 people can comfortably stay in its spiral-shaped design next to the rain forest with 1 or 2 beds and a large bathroom. Drift off to sleep with soothing nature sounds and soft natural air-circulation.
All electricity is generated by a 10,000-watt solar power plant with renewable energy backup batteries. Fresh clean water is provided by natural mountain spring all year round, and there are 5 water tanks with a storage capacity totaling 50,000 liters. The natural multi-stage waste treatment plant is gravity fed and uses lava rock and plants to naturally cleanse the water without the need for a septic tank. For these reasons, this off-grid resort has minimal operating costs. 4G cellular and Internet is also accessible on-site.
The 10-acre property has plenty of space to explore with trails to unique destinations such as exotic plant gardens and greenhouses, duck pond, the university indigenous research forest project, farm animal barns, mini sugar cane field, and process mill and circular campfire pit. Sample the many tropical fruits and vegetables grown on-site.
