INTERNATIONAL SURF PROPERTIES – Dropping Surfers into Dreams

About ISP

“Living the dream” means something different to every surfer-adventurer. For some, it can be as simple as buying a condo or investing in shared ownership in a modest beach property near great surf; for others the dream is to own a luxurious ocean villa or operate a surfing, fishing or yoga retreat — making a great living doing what you love.

ISP business partners, Jim Habig, and Hall of Fame surfing legend Henry Ford have traveled the globe, surfing world-class waves, and immersing themselves in diverse cultures. Along the way they have established an extensive network of international real estate contacts, offering a diverse array of surf-centric properties worldwide.

Jim was born and raised in San Clemente, California…the ultimate surf town! He has travelled the world surfing, diving and fishing. Being an avid waterman, Jim always wanted one place he could see the best surf properties in the world to dream and plan.

Jim graduated from San Clemente High School and went off to the University of California at Santa Barbara to pursue a degree in oceanography, but caught the marketing bug and went on to become a video cameraman, editor and producer. Jim worked with the Discovery Channel, Fox Sports and Real Stories of the Highway Patrol to name a few. Jim helped create Baja Life Magazine where he was introduced to the PowerSki Jetboard.

Henry Ford

Henry is a legendary California surfer who is a mainstay in many aspects of our surfing culture. Henry started surfing along the sand bars in the South Bay, Hermosa, Redondo, Manhattan and Torrance beaches, way back in the early 1950’s. He was a star in many of Bruce Brown’s early surfing movies including “Slippery When Wet,” “Surfing Hollow Days” and “Barefoot Adventure.”

During the era of surf clubs he, along with his pal and another classic surf legend, Freddy Phauler, were part of the infamous “Double Duce Danglers” of 22nd Street in Hermosa Beach. He was also a regular at Malibu during the summers along with such notables as the surfing “king of pop” himself, Terry “Tube steak” Tracey, Mickey “da Cat” Dora, Johnny Fain, Mike Doyle, Mickey “the Mongoose” Munoz and “Gidget” herself.

Greg Eich

When one spends the majority of their time surfing, fly-fishing, diving and skiing, where you wake up will tell the tale just how much time you will spend on the water or on the hill. After a few years at University of Colorado in Boulder, Greg left on yet another of his lengthy travels in search of waves, native textiles, and of course any fish with an impressive address. After returning to Colorado and opening his first art gallery, Greg realized he was too far from the water to surf, sail, salt water fish or dive, That brought him back to East County, San Diego toset up private practice as a Navaho textile conservator and of course, sales. This allowed me to settle into a pattern of moving and working between great mountains and beaches including Hawaii, New Mexico, New Zealand, and Cabo San Lucas, where he was co-owner of a marlin fishing fleet, surrounded by uncrowded waves.
