Aboout the Finca

Finca Rio Coto is 28.45 hectares which is equal to 70.3 acres. There are two access points to the property. One is the Rio Coto and the other is a small public road off the main highway. This is a completely self-sustainable property full of natural resources including sweet spring water.

The palms are 8 years old and are in their second year of harvest. The palms will produce for about 25 years. The current years’ harvest is expected to yield approximately 20 tons. At maturity, the new owner can expect up to 45 tons of harvest.

On the property is a private rock quarry that has been utilized for the nice, stable roads and various other projects. There is also construction grade Guadua Bamboo onsite. There are variety of mango, citrus, ginger, cacao, etc.. Due to the size of the Finca and its proximity to water, additional orchards such as avacado, grapefruit, limes and so much more can also be planted.

Currently, there are no fully built structures on site. There is a foundation for a small house. The use of the land is only limited to your imagination.

With access to Rio Coto, Acess to the Gulfo Dulce is very easy. Fishing, day trips to Puerto Jiminez and Golfito are just a few of the benefits of having the Rio Coto connected to the Finca.

About the Area

Golfito is a bustling port town best known for once having been home to the Dole Factory. It is now home to fishermen, tourists and local business owners. Golfito also has an airport, marina, a University campus, and a hospital. It is easy to fly from San Jose to Golfito and the flight is a visual extravaganza!

Just to the south at Pavones and across the gulf at Cabo Matapalo surfers have long known of amazing waves that roll in. Pavones, otherwise, known as the second-longest left in the world is a mecca to surfers from all across the world. If surfing isn’t your thing, there is still plenty to do in Pavones. All modern amenities are close to Finca Rio Coto making this a very unique opportunity for the right person.
