The tranquil, remote, jungled wavescape of Manuel Antonio has become a favorite destination for beginning surfers with its scattered, soft-lipped, beach break. But know the A-frame beachbreaks come alive for all level of surfers on good S and S-W swells. Just north of Manuel Antonio is Quepos rivermouth. This sand bar point churns out long lefts. The waves can get hollow out on a strong W or N-W swell with a lower tide.
