About the Area

This area attracts more than just surfers and fishermen; Golfo Dulce on the ocean side of the Peninsula with Rio Coto and Rio Sabalo on the Casa Fenix side of the road, offer amazing wildlife viewing experiences. On these rivers, you can spot many of Costa Rica’s exotic birds, otters, crocodiles, sloths and much more. You can take a boat tour or walk around the river banks to enjoy the wildlife.

Playa Zancudo is a one-hour drive or a 15-minute boat ride to the Golfito Airport making travel into the area very convenient. The Rio Sebala offers a breathtaking display of wildlife and is the perfect destination for a kayak tour. Close to Pavones Point, the world-famous, surf break. The Gulfo Dulce is known as a world-class fishing destination. The Southern Zone is the outdoor enthusiast’s dream destination.
