Neighborhood

Known as a surfer’s haven, Pavones is a small community located along the southern Pacific Coast. Surrounded by jungle and home to multiple world-class surf breaks. Pavones is also surrounded by diverse wildlife in the lush rainforest nearby. Wildlife is flying, swinging, climbing, and crawling everywhere you look. The rich jungle meets the coast with incredible lush tropical landscape. Wildlife abounds with a variety of monkeys including howlers and white-faced, toucans, macaws, sloths and so much more.

Pavones isn’t just another Costa Rica surfer town – this region is home to some of the best, longest wave in the world. This remote village can be a challenge to get to, but as the second-longest left behind Chicama, Peru, the travels may be worth it. When a south-southwest swell comes in, the surf here is fast, intense and the ride can last up to 2 minutes.
