Neighborhood

Punta Banco is located 10 minutes south of the world famous left break at Pavones. Punta is Spanish for point, however unlike Pavones there is no point at Punta Banco. Instead it is a stretch of a couple of kilometers with beach and reef breaks. There are sand and rock bottoms with both left and rights. Farther south is the rarely visited Punta Burica with strong currents the largest waves in the South.

Punta Banco is the place to go when the crowds invade Pavones. A surfer can experience up to 15ft waves both lefts and rights when there is a south swell.
