Playa Majahua Beach Hotel is a stellar hotel with great reviews
The beach in front of the Playa Majahua Beach Hotel has a stretch of crowd-free beach marked with rocky outcrops that encourage sandbars. These bars create consistent peaks when the conditions are right. These breaks happen on all swell directions and tides, for short, punchy rides over sand. There are several sandbars up and down the beach so keep your eyes peeled for the bar of the week,
La Saladita, Mexico is a small beach town located on the Pacific coast of Mexico, just a short distance to the north of Playa Majahua. Known for its long, sandy beach and consistent waves, the La Saladita point break is over a mile long and is known for its long, peeling left-hand point break. The waves here are generally in the 2-4 foot range, making it a great spot for both beginner and intermediate surfers. The water is warm and clear, and the beach is backed by lush tropical vegetation.
In addition to surfing, La Saladita offers a variety of other activities for visitors to enjoy. The town has a small selection of restaurants, bars, and shops, and there are several tour operators offering fishing trips, snorkeling excursions, and more. Visitors can also take a short boat ride to nearby Ixtapa Island, where they can swim with dolphins or go scuba diving.
Troncones and Manzanillo Point are just to the south and get very good as well. Manzanillo Bay in Troncones is a rock/reef point with a steep drop that empties into a deepwater cove. Breaks best on the southwest and west swells.
On the best days, Manzanillo offers a steep drop, a fast wall over a shallow reef with maybe even a barrel before dying down in the channel. Needs a significant swell with good direction to really perform. Because of the deep water and reef bottom setup, Manzanillo can maintain shape well into double overhead plus while other spots are just closing out.
