About This Break
Arrifana is one of the Algarve’s best-known surf spots, tucked inside a spectacular cliff-lined bay on Portugal’s Costa Vicentina. The main beach offers shifting left- and right-hand sandbar peaks, while the northern end of the bay has a more serious right-hand reef/point wave that comes alive on larger swells. The surrounding cliffs provide more shelter than many exposed west-coast beaches, making Arrifana an especially useful option when nearby spots are oversized or wind-affected.
