About This Break

Cabo Blanquillo is an exposed left-hand surf break on the wave-rich northern coast of Peru, located just a few kilometers from legendary Cabo Blanco. Unlike its famous point-break neighbor, Cabo Blanquillo is classified as a beach break, producing left-hand waves that respond particularly well to northwest groundswells and east-southeast offshore winds. The break is reasonably consistent and can provide clean, enjoyable surf without the intense crowds commonly associated with Cabo Blanco.

Its lighter crowds make Cabo Blanquillo an appealing alternative for surfers exploring this exceptional stretch of the Piura coastline. Rocks remain a consideration, and conditions can vary significantly with swell size and direction. When the combination of northwest swell and offshore ESE wind comes together, Cabo Blanquillo can deliver quality left-hand surf in a considerably more relaxed setting than nearby Cabo Blanco.
