Playa Grande

Playa Grande is on the same stretch of beach as Tamarindo to the north, but it has a better position in the bay for the south swells. The waves are powerful on big days and it isn’t advised that you go out unless you are a strong swimmer. Playa Grande is one of the most consistent beach breaks in the area and will be less crowded than the Tamarindo spots, but it is still fickle and changes with the tide and shifting sandbars.
