IDK's (I Don't Knows)

IDK’s—literally short for “I Don’t Know”—is the deliberately vague name used by Nicaragua Surf Report (NSR) for a pair of remote, extremely shallow reef waves somewhere along Nicaragua's Pacific coast. Unlike well-mapped breaks such as Popoyo or Playa Colorado, the precise location is intentionally kept quiet. NSR documented IDK’s #1 and IDK’s #2 during a major October 2020 swell and described both as serious waves reserved for experienced surfers. NSR Nicaragua

The standout characteristic is the reef. NSR describes IDK’s #2 as an exceptionally fickle wave breaking over extremely shallow, sea-urchin-covered rock, capable of producing remarkably square barrels when the swell, tide and wind align.
