Mag Rock / Magnific Rock
Magnific Rock, Las Salinas, Popoyo NIC-62, Nicaragua
About This Break
Mag Rock is the mellow left-hand point/reef wave wrapping around the base of Magnific Rock at Punta Sardina, in the Popoyo surf zone of Nicaragua. It overlaps geographically with the broader Beginners Bay area, but for ISP I would treat Mag Rock’s Long Left as the specific point wave and Beginners Bay as the broader protected bay containing several beginner-oriented peaks. Magnific Rock itself explicitly distinguishes “Magrock’s Long Left” from Beginners Bay in its current surf-break guide.
The defining wave is a long, soft left peeling away from the rocky headland into the protected bay. It is particularly well suited to longboards, mid-lengths and progressing surfers, while larger southern swells give the point enough speed and wall for experienced surfers. Magnific Rock describes it as a long, fun wave suitable for both shortboards and longboards, over reef and rock.
For surfers looking to buy, sell or invest around Popoyo and Nicaragua’s Emerald Coast, International Surf Properties connects the global surf community with real estate in the places surfers want to live.
