About This Break
A fun, consistent right-hander with open faces and something for almost every level of surfer.
Monkeys is a user-friendly right-hand reef break in Indonesia's Telo Islands and is widely regarded as one of the most consistent waves in the island chain. Offering rides of approximately 60 meters, Monkeys combines approachable takeoffs with clean, open faces that are perfect for carving, practicing turns and simply having fun.
Unlike many of Indonesia's more demanding reef breaks, Monkeys offers conditions suitable for a broad range of abilities. On smaller, friendlier days it can be an excellent option for progressing surfers, while larger swells provide faster, more powerful walls that keep experienced surfers entertained.
Its consistency, accessibility and forgiving character make Monkeys a favorite among visiting surfers and an ideal everyday wave when exploring the Telos.
