Peña Rosa
Peña Rosa, San Bartolo area, Lima Province, Lima, Peru
About This Break
Peña Rosa is an exposed left-hand point break over boulders on the southern Lima coastline near San Bartolo. It is a compact but powerful wave: the defining left can be hollow, fast and punchy, with normal rides generally under 50 meters and better days producing 50–150 meter rides. Peña Rosa has excellent exposure to Southern Hemisphere groundswell and is considerably less crowded than many of the better-known Punta Hermosa and San Bartolo breaks.
Hollow • Fast • Powerful • compact performance left. Peña Rosa is more about a short, intense ride than a long point-break wall. Its boulder setup can create steep faces and hollow sections when the swell arrives at the right angle.
