Puntilla

Puntilla is a compact, punchy right-hand reef break tucked close to shore at Playa Central/Playa Negra in Punta Hermosa. Local beach information specifically identifies La Puntilla here and describes a right with tubes and good sections close to shore. Surf databases characterize it as hollow, fast and powerful, with normal rides around 50–150 m and the potential for 150–300 m rides on particularly good days.

Unlike Punta Hermosa's more exposed reefs, Puntilla is comparatively fickle. It is a quality conditional wave rather than one of the area's highly consistent reefs. When the swell, sand and reef setup cooperate, its fast right-hand walls and barrel sections make it a worthwhile performance wave.
