Description: Yo-Yo’s is a renowned surf zone off the western coast of South Pagai Island (Pagai Selatan) in Indonesia’s Mentawai Islands. It features two distinct waves: The Wedge, a powerful right-hand reef break, and The Hook, a left-hand reef break. Both receive substantial Indian Ocean swell, making Yo-Yo’s a popular stop for Mentawai surf charters.
The Wedge is the more explosive of the two waves, offering a steep takeoff, fast walls, powerful turns and occasional hollow sections. It can deliver outstanding high-performance surfing when the swell and wind align. Unlike the long, mechanical barrels of some northern Mentawai reefs, The Wedge is known for its punchy, energetic character.
