About This Break
Los Órganos is a quality reef break on Peru’s tropical northern coastline, located near the seaside town of Los Órganos in the Piura region. The break is best known for its fast left-hand wave peeling over a rocky reef, offering powerful walls and hollow sections when the swell and wind align. Northwest to west-northwest groundswells are particularly favorable, while east to southeast winds provide the cleanest offshore conditions.
When Los Órganos is working, the reef can produce fast, performance-oriented surfing with the potential for barreling sections. The wave generally favors intermediate to advanced surfers because of its speed, shallow reef and rocks. Compared with better-known northern Peru destinations, Los Órganos can have relatively light crowds, making it an attractive alternative for experienced surfers exploring the Máncora region.
