Playa Manzanilla
Playa Manzanilla
About This Break
Playa Manzanilla is a small, sheltered beach break in the Puerto Ángel area of Oaxaca. Unlike the highly exposed southern-swell magnets farther west, Manzanilla sits inside a protected coastal indentation, so it generally needs a larger S–SW swell before meaningful surf reaches the beach. When enough swell penetrates the bay, shifting sandbars produce short left- and right-hand peaks in warm, relatively protected water.
This is not one of Oaxaca's destination high-performance waves. Its value is as a smaller, more approachable local beach break, particularly when exposed beaches are substantially larger. Wave quality and consistency depend heavily on swell direction and the current sand configuration.
For surfers looking to buy, sell or invest around Puerto Ángel and the Oaxaca coast, International Surf Properties connects the global surf community with real estate in the places surfers want to live.
