Topleca

Topleca is an exposed reef-and-sand peak on Oaxaca’s Pacific coast near Agua Blanca, east of Puerto Escondido. Unlike the famous point breaks farther east, Topleca produces both lefts and rights over an uneven rock-and-sand reef. The wave tends to be short, powerful and punchy, with heavy sections and frequent closeouts; Yeeew notes that these characteristics make it particularly attractive to bodyboarders.

This is more of a raw, lesser-known Oaxaca reef than a marquee destination wave. Rides are generally short—around 50 m / 164 ft—but overhead conditions can produce powerful sections for experienced surfers.
