Jim Habig

Jim was born and raised in San Clemente, California — the ultimate surf town and the heart of the U.S. surf industry. He grew up walking the trail at Trestles, paddling the Pier, and learning every reef and beach break between Salt Creek and San Onofre. From there he has travelled the world surfing, diving and fishing — chasing waves through Costa Rica, Mexico, Indonesia, the South Pacific and beyond, always with a visionary eye for the coastlines he passed through.

Being a lifelong waterman, Jim always wanted one place where surfers, investors and dreamers could see the best surf properties in the world side by side — break by break, country by country — a single, trusted home to dream, plan and finally pull the trigger on living the dream.

Jim graduated from San Clemente High School and went off to the University of California at Santa Barbara to pursue a degree in oceanography, but caught the marketing bug and went on to become a video cameraman, editor and producer. Jim worked with the Discovery Channel, Fox Sports and Real Stories of the Highway Patrol to name a few. Jim helped create Baja Life Magazine where he was introduced to the PowerSki Jetboard.
