Las Brisas Resort and Villas is located in Playa Hermosa at the foot of the Hermosa Hills. It is not as touristy as the neighboring town of Jaco to the north, but extremely popular with surfers and families.  The hotel offers a relaxing atmosphere, with the beach of Playa Hermosa has miles of uninterrupted coastline. You can pack a cooler and get dropped off at a secluded beach with no one around. Surfing

The beach break at Playa Hermosa has an ample amount of power and sees good left and right peaks. If you’re keen to venture off, the resort offers guided tours to some of the best breaks in the area. There are about a dozen breaks in the area. Boca Barranca is a smoking river mouth lefthander, while Escondido is a solid reef break with fun left and right barrels. Your guide will know exactly where to go and he will put you on the best waves according to the current conditions and your ability level.

The Playa Hermosa Wildlife Refuge (Refugio Nacional de Vida Silvestre Playa Hermosa) turtle nesting area where Olive Ridley sea turtles come ashore to nest every year ­ 1 mile (1.6km)

Rainforest Aerial Tram and Serpentarium – 20 minutes drive.

The Carara Biological Reserve (Reserva Biologica Carara). With several miles of trails open to visitors, it is a great place to view much of Costa Rica’s wildlife. Early morning or around sunset is often the best time to see the flight of scarlet macaws that rest among the mangroves. It is also possible to see beautiful white-faced Capuchin monkeys and others.
