About This Break
Atiha is one of Moorea's more serious reef-pass setups. Swell pours through Avarapa Pass into Atiha Bay, producing both left- and right-hand waves over coral reef. Tahiti Tourisme specifically recognizes the spot for the quality of both directions. When south and southwest swell combines with favorable winds, Atiha can deliver fast, hollow Polynesian reef surfing with considerably less exposure than Moorea's better-known tourist areas.
