Cook Bay / Pao Pao Reef

At the mouth of spectacular Cook Bay—also known as Pao Pao Bay—the wide opening through the reef is called Teavaroa Pass. On the outer reef, northern swells produce quality surf, including a long left along one side of the channel and a right on the opposite reef. Cook Bay's combination of emerald volcanic peaks, deep-blue water and open-ocean reef surf makes this one of Moorea's most visually dramatic places to paddle out.
