About This Break
Haapiti Pass is one of Moorea's signature surf breaks, delivering long left-hand walls across the outer reef when southwest swell reaches the island. Set against Moorea's dramatic volcanic mountains and turquoise lagoon, the wave combines serious Polynesian reef surfing with one of the most spectacular settings in the South Pacific. The break is reached across the lagoon and is best suited to surfers comfortable with reef passes, currents and powerful open-ocean swell.
